
The Joy Club (Dark Dancers) is a group of people who share our love of music and dancing - in the dark! Yes that's right all the lights are off so you can dance with total freedom because no one can see you.
Every Thursday we meet and dance our hearts out for an hour to a wide range of music from the 50s until today - soul, pop, house, funk, rock and so much more.
Where: Waimauku War Memorial Hall, 24 Waimauku Station Road
When: Thursday's 7:30 - 8:35pm
Doors open 7:15pm. Music starts and doors closed at 7:30pm so make sure you're on time so you don't miss out.
How Often: Weekly
Cost: $10 (cash only)
What to Know:
Wear comfortable clothing and shoes (most people wear gym clothes)
You can bring a water bottle if required. No drugs or alcohol please.
Everyone age 16 and above welcome (want to bring younger children? please get in touch as songs aren't censored)
Worried about the dark - we suggest you dance close to a wall so you can reach out and touch it to orient yourself when needed.
If you want to track your steps with a fit bit or smart watch please be aware most make light so we suggest covering it with something like a wristband used for tennis.
Nothing else needed except your energy!
